Welcome to Jacobson Arts
Big Country Painting Trip
I'VE NOT TAKEN a painting trip in a while, and I am excited. I am doing this one partly as a sponsored trip, so if you want a painting from the road, you can be sure to get one - and read about my travels and adventures, too. To find out more, click here.

AS I WRITE THIS, on a March afternoon, the sky is cloudy and a bitter, cutting wind is biting hard from the north.
But a day ago, while I was painting and doing my taxes, Dave was examining his Hobie pedal-kayak-sail trimaran, and neighbors were working in their gardens.
So I know that winter will leave, and spring will arrive, and bring with it the starts of flowers and vegetables and grasses and all that we plant and grow and tend in the months of warm days and long dusks.
I can't wait!
This painting sustained me over a brutally cold spell, helping me remember and look ahead, and stay present at the same time. It is oil on black canvas, 24x48, $1950.
Potholders!

I started making these when I was laid up after knee surgery, and I have to say that I love the whole process. Yes, it reminds me of camp... but more than that, making a potholder gives me a space of calm, of quiet, of serenity and color. I'm selling them for $12 for one or $20 for two. Shipping is an extra $5, and the selection will be by me, and fairly random. If there's a color you MUST have, contact me and we can talk. You'll find the potholders in my Store!

WORKSHOPS
Come to the studio here at 18 Bayview Ave. in Wachapreague and learn to paint with a palette knife.
Two-day workshops are $375, one-day workshops are $200. Both workshops include most materials. For more information, please click here.
